House Fire in Girdletree

On February 28th, 2022 at approximately 7:15pm, Snow Hill was alerted to assist Girdletree with a house fire. Girdletree was operating on scene with smoke showing from a 2 story house in the 5600-block of Dukes Road. Snow Hill responded with Ladder 4, Tanker 4, Engine 401, and 400 Paramedic 2. Once arriving on location, crews from Snow Hill assisted with ventilation, overhaul, and remaining suppression efforts. All crews operated for about 2 hours before returning to service.

While units operated on the house fire, Powellville Fire Company provided one engine to standby in Station 400 quarters, and additional Snow Hill personnel stood-by in quarters to staff the Rescue.
